Vanessa Hudgens Rocks Short 'Do Phenomenal at Neutrogena Event

Vanessa Hudgens and Hayden Panettiere prove they are the perfect spokesmodels for Neutrogena, stepping out together at the company's Wave for Change event looking beautiful and radiant.

Hudgens in particular turned heads with her new short hairdo, making it the first time she attended an event with her short hair styled fancier than it's been seen. Until last night, the short cut had only been worn scraggly and scruffy, causing many to say that it was a horrible cut. The truth is that Hudgens chopped her hair for the role of a homeless teen in Gimme Shelter. According to Access Hollywood, the actress said of her cut "I grabbed the scissors and started cutting my actual hair and then my director decided that he was going to grab the scissors, he grabs a chunk of my hair and just chops it."

Now Vanessa Hudgens proves that her short cut can also look beautiful. Adding some body to it, the young actress made her cut work for her by using product to create fun movement. The look is fresh and age appropriate.

Hayden Panettiere also showed that long hair doesn't always have to be the way for young women. She wore her hair slicked back in a tight bun, giving the effect that she too had short hair. Panettiere's updo was reminiscent of a 1940s pin-up girl. Hopefully, both girls will be great examples that short hair can be sexy and fun.

Wave for Change is a program sponsored by Neutrogena and has a goal of raising $250,000 for the victims of the Alabama tornadoes. Both Hayden Panettiere and Vanessa Hudgens are ambassadors for the beauty brand and lent their time to the event to spend time with the children. In a PR Newswire press release, Hudgens says "Neutrogena Wave for Change is such an amazing campaign and I am so excited to be so involved again this year. We are trying to spread the word to raise even more funds for Global Giving which benefits various charities including those linked to disaster relief, education and environmental causes."
