SINGAPORE: What would you do for a chance to see international superstar Lady Gaga perform?
For the 108 contestants of Singapore Telecommunications Limited's (SingTel) Lil Monsters go Gaga@Singtel Contest, held at the Singtel Comcenter on Monday, there was little they wouldn't do to see their idol live.
The contestants sang and dance in their loudest, gaudiest Lady Gaga-inspired costumes during the contest, where the payout for the best 100 performers was one ticket each to the SingTel AMPed 'Born This Way' Lady Gaga showcase on Thursday.
There were guys, girls, guys dressed like girls and vice versa, including one who turned up as the 'Fame Monster', with what appeared to be a pink scarf wrapped around his head for the event.

The performances ranged from the bizarre - an ultra-emotional rendition of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" - to simply amazing, where it felt as though the performer managed to channel Lady Gaga's spirit.
However, the performers' courage and passion impressed the judges enough for Singtel to give away a pair of the coveted tickets to all the participants.
Pandemonium broke out among the performers when the news was announced, with some contestants openly weeping tears of happiness, while others hugged their friends and began dancing with joy to Lady Gaga's music.
"I'm so excited! I didn't expect all of us to win two tickets each, it's so incredible!
"I've been a fan [of Lady Gaga] since her first album. I have all her CDs! She is not afraid to be different, she inspires all of us to be different and open up to society," said a 22-year-old contestant, who only wanted to be known as Luke.
"I feel very ecstatic, very happy! This is the best moment ever!" said 17-year-old student Brandon Chew, who spent five hours each day for three days, toiling over his blue telephone hat for the contest.
For Chew, winning two tickets was especially significant as that meant he could take his close friend along for the concert.
"I have a friend who couldn't make it [for the competition] today, and he is also a huge Gaga fan, so I'm going to share it with him since he is also a 'Little Monster'. I think he deserves it," said Chew, beaming.
